Executive Coaching in Qatar
Executive coaching in Qatar with me is delivered online, in Arabic or English, for leaders in Doha and across the country. Coaching is open to individuals and leadership teams in government, energy, education, finance and family business, and we work on presence, decisions, relationships and the next step in your career. Qatar runs on the same clock and working week as Bahrain, and every engagement starts with a free call.

Qatar has spent two decades building institutions at speed. Many leaders in Doha now face a different question from the one they started with: not how to build fast, but how to lead well what has been built.
That is a question about people, culture and your own habits as a leader, which is exactly where coaching helps.
Human development is the first pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030
Qatar National Vision 2030, published by the national planning authority, rests on four pillars: human, social, economic and environmental development. Human development comes first, with a stated aim of building a capable and motivated workforce, and successive national development strategies have turned that aim into programmes.
For leaders, the vision is not abstract. It shows up as expectations to develop Qatari talent, to build capability rather than buy it in, and to lead organisations that will outlast any single project. Executive coaching in Qatar supports the person carrying those expectations.
When the big deadline has passed, leadership changes shape
Qatar hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2022, and many organisations grew quickly to deliver major projects around it. A deadline of that size creates a particular style of leadership: urgent, directive, focused on getting it done.
Imagine a director who built a team of hundreds for a fixed date, and now leads the same team through steady operations. The skills that worked under pressure, such as fast decisions and close control, can start to work against trust and ownership. Coaching helps you notice which habits to keep and which to retire. How to lead a team through change looks at the team side of that shift.
Sector by sector: what leaders in Qatar bring to coaching
The focus of coaching depends a great deal on the sector you lead in. These are the conversations each one tends to open.
| Sector | Typical leadership pressure | Where coaching focuses |
|---|---|---|
| Energy and LNG | Long-term, high-stakes projects with strict safety and governance | Decision-making under scrutiny, leading technical experts |
| Education and research, including Education City | Academic and administrative cultures meeting in one institution | Influence without formal authority, stakeholder management |
| Government and semi-government | Strategy set nationally, delivered through layered approvals | Leading change, managing up, developing national talent |
| Financial services and the Qatar Financial Centre | Regulation, growth targets and international teams | Executive presence, delegation, resilience |
| Family-owned groups | Succession, governance and the family's place in the business | Role clarity, difficult conversations across generations |
Qatarisation and growing Qatari leaders
Qatar's Ministry of Labour promotes the employment and development of Qatari nationals in the private sector, alongside long-standing Qatarisation in government and state-owned companies. The challenge for organisations is turning a strong graduate intake into confident leaders within a few years.
Coaching speeds that up by giving emerging Qatari leaders a confidential place to build judgement and presence. For organisations designing that support at scale, leadership development programmes explains how coaching fits alongside training.
Scheduling coaching from Doha
Qatar and Bahrain share the same time zone and a Sunday to Thursday working week, so sessions slot into your diary without any conversion. We plan around Qatar National Day on 18 December and the Eid holidays.
During Ramadan, official working hours are shortened, and we adjust session times to suit your day. Sessions usually run weekly or every two weeks on video, from your office or home.
What happens in the first online session
We begin with what brought you to coaching, then look at the wider picture: your role, the people around you, and how you respond under pressure. I ask more than I tell. By the end, you will have one clear goal for our work and one small experiment to try before we meet again.
If you want to arrive prepared, how to prepare for your first coaching session is a short read.
Experience that matches Qatar's mix of sectors
My 26+ years in leadership, HR and talent development span financial services, FMCG, entrepreneurship and government. I am an ICF PCC with more than 4,500 coaching hours, certified in executive, systemic and systemic team coaching, and I coach in Arabic and English. Based in Bahrain, I bring a Gulf perspective from outside your organisation's circle.
Frequently asked questions
Can sessions take place in person in Doha?
One-to-one coaching for leaders in Qatar runs online. In-person work in Doha, for example for a leadership team offsite, can be discussed by arrangement, depending on the engagement.
Do you coach whole leadership teams in Qatar?
Yes. Team programmes can run virtually, and each is tailored. They can include leadership assessments, facilitated sessions, workshops, team reflection and follow-up coaching. Team coaching explains the approach.
Is coaching suitable for a newly appointed Qatari manager?
Yes. The first year in a leadership role is a strong time to start, because habits and reputation form quickly. We work on credibility, delegation and confidence with a team that may include more experienced colleagues.
How is my privacy protected in online sessions?
Online sessions carry exactly the same confidentiality as meeting in person. What you share stays between us, in line with the ICF Code of Ethics, and sponsors see only what we agree together.
