Free Leadership Tools and Templates
These free leadership tools and templates are practical exercises you can use today, with no email sign-up. The self-assessments score instantly in your browser and nothing you enter is stored. The templates and planners are printable worksheets for moments like starting a new role, preparing a difficult conversation or checking trust in a team. Each one explains how to read the result and what to try next.
I created these tools from the questions I ask leaders most often in coaching. They will not replace a conversation, but they will help you arrive at one with more clarity about what you want to change.
Choose a tool by the question you are asking
The tools fall into three groups, and the quickest way to choose is to start from what you need right now.
- "How am I doing?" The self-assessments give you a snapshot of your own habits, such as your leadership style, your presence in senior rooms or early warning signs of burnout. Start with the leadership style self-assessment if you are unsure.
- "How do I prepare?" The templates and planners are printable worksheets for a specific moment: a new role, a hard conversation, a delegation decision or a regular one-to-one.
- "How is my team doing?" Team tools, such as the team trust assessment, are designed to be completed privately by each member and then discussed together.
Self-assessments are for reflection, not judgement
Every self-assessment here is a reflective exercise, not a validated psychometric test or a medical assessment. It shows how you see yourself at one moment, which is useful but incomplete. Treat each result as a starting point, compare it with what colleagues see, and retake it in a few months to notice change.
Tools that touch on wellbeing, such as the burnout self-check, point you to a doctor or licensed mental health professional where that is the right next step. Coaching is not therapy, and none of these tools are a substitute for professional care.
Get more from a tool by acting on one finding
The value is not in the score or the completed worksheet. It is in the one thing you do differently afterwards. Pick a single insight, try it for a few weeks and notice what happens. If you would like support turning a result into lasting change, one-to-one executive coaching or, for whole teams, team coaching is the natural next step.
