Career Transition Coaching
Career transition coaching helps professionals make a significant change with clarity: moving into a new function, switching sector, or leaving corporate life to build your own practice. We work on what you really want, what you bring, what is holding you back and how to make the move well. I coach online or in person in Manama, in Arabic or English.

A career change is rarely only a practical question. Underneath the CV and the job search sit questions of identity, money, family expectation and fear. Career transition coaching gives those questions room before you commit to an answer.
I made this move myself
I spent many years inside multinational organisations, in HR and talent development across financial services, FMCG, entrepreneurship and government. Then I moved into private practice as a coach. I know the pull of a secure title and the questions that come with leaving it.
That does not mean I will steer you towards leaving. My own path is useful context, not a template. Some of the most valuable transition work ends with someone choosing to stay and change how they work instead.
Three kinds of transition, three different starting points
| The move | The question underneath | Where coaching usually starts |
|---|---|---|
| Changing function, for example from finance to strategy or from operations to HR | Will my experience count, and who am I without my specialism? | Mapping transferable strengths and how others currently see you |
| Changing sector, for example from banking to government or from a multinational to a family business | Will I fit the culture, and how do I explain the move? | Values, working style and the story you tell about your career |
| Leaving corporate life for your own practice or business | Can I make this work, and what am I afraid of losing? | Readiness, identity beyond the title, and a realistic first step |
Signs you are ready to explore a career transition
If you are mainly feeling stuck rather than ready to move, my article on feeling stuck in your career may help you name what is going on first.
- You are successful on paper but no longer feel connected to the work.
- You keep returning to the same idea, then talking yourself out of it.
- Restructuring, a missed promotion or a change in leadership has made you question your path.
- You have reached a point in life where purpose matters more than the next title.
- Family responsibilities or expectations make the decision feel bigger than a job change.
- You want to move, but cannot yet say clearly what you are moving towards.
Clarity comes before the plan
Most people arrive wanting a plan. We do get to one, but I have found the plan only holds if it rests on clear answers to harder questions: what you value, what energises you, what you are no longer willing to tolerate and which beliefs are keeping you where you are. If those beliefs turn out to be the main obstacle, limiting beliefs coaching can become part of the work.
We use tools from my training in NLP, mental fitness and leadership development to surface those answers. Then we test them in small, low-risk ways, such as conversations with people in the field you are considering, before you make a larger move. My guide on how to change careers mid-career sets out the practical sequence.
In the first session, we separate the push from the pull
We start by looking at what is pushing you away from your current role and what is pulling you towards something new. Both matter, but a move driven only by push tends to repeat the same frustrations somewhere else.
By the end of the session you will have a clearer picture of which kind of transition you are considering and one or two questions to explore before we meet again. I won’t decide for you. I will help you hear your own thinking more clearly.
How the coaching is shaped
Sessions are usually weekly while you are working through the big questions, then every two weeks as you start acting on them. The engagement is tailored to you, with no set package or fixed number of steps.
Because I coach in Arabic and English and work with clients across Bahrain and the GCC, we can also explore moves between countries in the region and what they mean for you and your family.
Frequently asked questions
Do you write CVs or find jobs for clients?
No. I am a coach, not a recruiter or CV writer. My role is to help you get clear on the direction, the story and the mindset, so that any CV, application or business plan you create is built on solid ground.
I am not sure I want to leave. Can career transition coaching still help?
Yes. Many people use coaching to decide whether to move at all. Sometimes the answer is a change within the same organisation, a different role or a new way of working where you are.
How long does career transition coaching usually take?
It depends on how far you want to move and how quickly. Some people need a few months to reach a clear decision; others continue while they make the move and settle in. Every engagement is personalised, so we agree the shape together.
Is this only for senior leaders?
No. I work with mid-career professionals, managers and executives. What matters is that you are serious about examining your direction, not your job title.
I want to start my own business. Is this for me?
It can be, especially in the deciding and early stages. If you are a woman building or growing your own venture, mindset coaching for women entrepreneurs may be a closer fit.
What if my family has strong views about my career?
That is common, and we can give it proper attention. Coaching does not ask you to ignore family expectations; it helps you understand them alongside your own wishes so that your decision is one you can stand behind.
Is everything we discuss confidential?
Completely. That matters especially when you are still employed and exploring a move. Nothing you share leaves our sessions.
