Executive Coaching in Oman

Executive coaching in Oman with me runs online, in Arabic or English, for leaders in Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, Duqm and elsewhere in the Sultanate. It suits leaders stepping into larger roles, leading restructured teams or developing Omani talent under Vision 2040. Sessions are one to one or with your leadership team, usually weekly or every two weeks, and the first step is a free discovery call.

Oman is changing in a measured way: national priorities set for the long term, government bodies reorganised, and new sectors growing alongside oil and gas. Leaders feel that change as more responsibility, faster.

Coaching gives you a steady, private place to work out how you want to lead through it.

Oman Vision 2040 changes the brief for leaders in every sector

Oman Vision 2040 sets the country's direction across four themes: people and society, economy and development, governance and institutional performance, and a sustainable environment. Diversifying the economy and strengthening the private sector are central to it.

For a leader, this means targets that reach further than the annual plan, closer attention to performance in public bodies, and growing expectations to develop Omani capability. Coaching helps you hold the long view while still leading the people in front of you this week.

Leading after restructuring in government and public bodies

Since 2020, Oman has restructured its government, merging and reorganising a number of ministries and authorities. Restructuring of that kind leaves leaders with combined teams, unfamiliar mandates and colleagues who may still identify with their old organisation.

We work on what that asks of you: building one team out of several, earning trust from people you did not choose, and making decisions while the new structure settles. How to lead a team you inherited covers the practical first steps, and leadership coaching for government leaders the sector context.

Omanisation puts Omani managers into bigger roles, sooner

The Ministry of Labour sets Omanisation requirements for private-sector employers, and many roles that were once filled from abroad are now held by Omani professionals. That is an opportunity, and it can also mean leading at a level you have not had time to rehearse.

Coaching gives an emerging Omani leader a confidential place to build judgement, confidence and presence. For senior leaders responsible for that development, the work is about coaching rather than rescuing, so national talent grows into the role instead of around it.

Ports, logistics, tourism and energy: leading in growing sectors

Vision 2040 places weight on sectors such as logistics, tourism, manufacturing and mining, alongside oil and gas. Leaders in Sohar, Duqm and Salalah, where ports and economic zones are growing, often lead teams that are new, mixed and expanding quickly.

Imagine an operations head in a port company who moved from a technical specialist role. The technical work is familiar; the hard part is holding a growing team to standards while staying approachable. That is classic coaching territory, and leadership coaching for technical experts explores it further.

Time, week and calendar for coaching in Oman

Oman runs one hour ahead of Bahrain, and both countries work Sunday to Thursday, so a session time is easy to agree in Muscat time. We plan around National Day in November and the Eid holidays.

During Ramadan, working hours are shortened, and we move sessions to suit the fasting day or pause briefly. Sessions are in Arabic, English or both, whichever lets you think most clearly.

My background, and why it is relevant in Oman

I spent more than 26 years in leadership, HR and talent development across financial services, FMCG, entrepreneurship and government, inside multinational organisations and in private practice. Talent strategy and leadership development were the core of that work, which is the same agenda Omanisation and Vision 2040 place on leaders today.

I am an ICF Professional Certified Coach with more than 4,500 coaching hours, and I won't tell you what to decide. I ask the questions that help you find your own answer.

Frequently asked questions

Do you come to Muscat for sessions?

One-to-one coaching for leaders in Oman runs online. In-person work in Oman, for example a team offsite, can be discussed by arrangement. If you are visiting Bahrain, we can also meet in Manama.

Is executive coaching different from a leadership course?

Yes. A course teaches a set curriculum to a group; coaching starts from your situation and your goals, one to one. How coaching differs from training explains when each is the better choice.

Can coaching support an Omanisation programme in our company?

It can. A tailored programme might combine group sessions for emerging Omani managers with one-to-one executive coaching for their senior leaders. Each programme is designed for the organisation, so we start with a conversation about your goals.

Will my employer know what we discuss?

No. What you share is confidential. If your employer funds the coaching, we agree at the start what is shared, usually goals and broad progress, and nothing else leaves our sessions without your agreement.
